This was painted for my friend Jennifer's sweet 16 today.
It was also my first time painting on a canvas. I got two of them a few months ago because I was like, "Mom! If I buy a canvas, I get another for ONE cent!"
And she let me buy them, but as I was walking out of the store, I realized that I didn't paint. oAo;; So they sat around collecting dust for a while, until just the other day.
-horrible impulse buyer- XDDD So I then I got some acrylic paint and brushes, but I don't have an easel, so I held the canvas with my knees the entire time I painted. It works. o 3o
The first few brush strokes were so crappy looking, I was almost going to give up on it, but I think things got better from there. It took me about 3 hours, which was a lot less time than I thought it took, but I'm happy with the result, and Jennifer seemed to like it. x]
you def got a good lay-in going and i think if you keep on painting in acrylic you could def come out with a more solid painting. but i love the emotion and vibrancy of this work.
This is one of my favorite paintings. I want to hang it in my house!! I would totally fight your friend for it. It's the background on my phone right now. :}
I have featured your work in my recent journal dedicated to traditional art paintings
